Ditto. Note the contact sheets showing raw images off negatives (see below).
A real rarity. Had the schedule been adhered to this would have been issue one’s cover with a December release date.

Crash Rate card for advertisers, September 1983, and…
...for contrast, same effective April 1985.
Negative contact sheet for PR photos taken mid-year 1983. This one includes poses for the “ray gun” shot, the Transam in Ludlow pose (though I think a 35mm picture was finally selected), and the three fighting monsters pose, all photographed in the hall/dining room of 85 Old Street. 16x20 prints were made for Oliver to paint on. On the right: several shots of Old Street outside No. 85 looking uphill towards the centre of town for the mail order ad used in other magazines during late 1983, earl 1984.
Negative contact sheet for PR photos taken mid-year 1983. This one includes poses for the Transam scene, and four others we never used, including one on Ludlow railway station. The two top right (crawling on the floor), were to be turned on their heads so we would be scaling a skyscraper by the time Oliver finished painting it all in… Actually, I’m rather sorry we didn’t do that one. :)
Photographic print with Oliver painting and airbrushing to create the other magazines’ mail order advert.
The ad as it appeared.
